Katherine Lodkowski

Hi! My name is Katherine, and I am a soon to be Graduate of Design (Architecture). When designing I feel most inspired by the pre-existing environment. Incorporating nature into my work is something I feel very passionate about. This in combination with a minimalistic design approach is a concept that I carry with me and when bringing a vision to life.

My ever-growing technical knowledge of design, in combination with my creativity is my greatest asset to professionally meeting the clients requirements. I am eager to continue pushing my boundaries and look forward to exploring the prospect of human needs and how this helps to shape my designs to best suit user needs.

Flora Discovery Museum | Studio 5

Newport’s Flora Discovery Museum is envisioned to create a vibrant and educational hub that welcomes and invites all. Being located in Newport, in close proximity to the Substation and Newport Train Station, the museum aims to address the lack of attention and draw to the area by creating a destination that is both locally engaging and nationally eye-catching. The design proposal offers a sense of identity, going beyond the clear industrial heritage in which Newport is built upon. This museum will bring life into Newport beyond its history, by focusing on the “life” found within the natural environment and integrating native greenery within both the interior and exterior spaces of the museum.

Still-Wharf Oasis | Studio 4

Despite being within close proximity to the lively city, the North Wharf is disconnected from the hustle and bustle energy of the Melbourne CBD. It is lacking a sense of vibrance; being held back by its infrastructure. To address this, the proposal offers a retreat embracing the disconnect between the site and its surroundings, offering access to a more peaceful area, activating the space in a unique and purposeful manner.
