Alexander Fahmi is completing a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering at Swinburne University, specialising in structural and civil design. His studies have focused on the integration of architecture and engineering — developing efficient, sustainable, and visually cohesive building systems.
Throughout his degree, Alexander has worked on multidisciplinary design projects exploring reinforced concrete structures, steel design, geotechnical engineering and advanced BIM modelling. His final-year major projects investigate the structural optimisation of an inflatable reinforced-PVC coworking space, aiming to balance architectural intent with material efficiency and constructability.
Alexander has gained practical experience through working in civil design, where he assisted with drafting, and design documentation using AutoCAD. These experiences strengthened his understanding of the full design process — from conceptual design to detailed documentation and coordination.
Motivated by a passion for functional and enduring design, Alexander aspires to contribute to projects that combine engineering innovation with architectural quality, creating structures that are efficient, elegant, and environmentally responsible.
